Proper nutrition is a cornerstone of cancer care. Both chemotherapy and radiation therapy increase the body's metabolic demand while sometimes affecting appetite, taste perception, and digestion. 1. Incorporate well-cooked lentils (dals), paneer, soy, eggs, curd (yogurt), and soft lean proteins to help repair body tissues. 2. Rather than three large meals, eat 5 to 6 small, nutrient-dense meals throughout the day. 3. If food tastes metallic or bland, add subtle natural flavor enhancers like lemon juice, mint, or mild spices. 4. Opt for dry, plain foods such as toast, khichdi, or roasted makhana. Avoid overly greasy, heavy, or strongly spiced foods. 5. Drink adequate fluids between meals, including coconut water, buttermilk (chaas), and clear soups. Always consult your treating oncologist before taking unverified dietary supplements or extreme restrictive diets.
